Tip # 5 Sending Holiday Cards - Prepare & Purchase Early

Prepare your list of contacts early and make sure the information is up to date. You don't want to miss out on reaching your loyal customers and associates due to old or inaccurate information. Once you've prepared a list, be sure to maintain it throughout the year so it is ready to go for the following year.

And you don't want to miss out on early savings ... prepare and purchase as early as possible!

Tip #4 - How to pinch pennies this holiday season

No doubt every business knows just how tough it is to meet budget restrictions. What can be eliminated to make ends meet? If you are considering not extending a holiday greeting to your loyal customers, please reconsider! Reaching out to the people that help your business is so very important. Instead of not sending holiday cards at all, look at Landmark's Value Collection to represent your business beautifully with a colorful design, on a budget. A well-chosen sentiment and handwritten "thank you" go a long way in cementing those relationships and future sales.

Sending Holiday Cards Tip #2 - Postage

Make sure you have the proper postage for your holiday cards. Square holiday cards are popular, but do require extra postage. Also if you decide to send anything extra along with your card, you'll want to have it weighed to determine the correct postage. If you are in doubt at all, have the completed card/envelope weighed before mailing to ensure that cards aren't returned to you for insufficient postage or worse, delivered "postage due" to the recipient.

Order your holiday cards at least 3-4 weeks before the holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's). Then be sure to mail your holiday cards a minimum of 4 days before the holiday so they arrive in time.

All-American Gift

"... ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." - John F. Kennedy

As we celebrate Independence Day with picnics, parades & fireworks, please remember those that are currently serving in our armed forces. I have never had a close family member join the service until recently. In a few weeks we will be sending my nephew off to Afghanistan with a small family gathering. There will be hugs and well wishes surrounded by a sense of pride and concern.

For his parents, the next several months, including this holiday season will have a very different focus. They will be thinking more about the gift and cost of American Freedom rather than the gifts under their tree .. a yellow ribbon and flag will adorn their home rather than bells and twinkling lights. Christmas will be very different without everyone together.

If you, too, find your focus on the true All-American Gift, you have a beautiful choice for a holiday card & sentiment available through The Landmark Collection.

May the Spirit of the Holidays remind you of the strength and perseverance of our nation and its people.

Recycled Greeting Cards - What does that really mean to you?

This year was the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day when Americans demanded cleaner water, cleaner air and a cleaner environment for future generations. We have much to celebrate, but we are challenged to continue our efforts. We all know buying paper products made from post-consumer waste is the right thing to do, but do we really know what that means to you?

Nearly 80% of the Landmark Collection Holiday Greeting Cards are made from paper containing from 10% to 100% post-consumer fibers. Post-consumer fibers are those end-products generated by consumers that have been separated or diverted from the solid waste system. The paper's manufacturer uses renewable energy resources such as wind poser, solar power, biomass and others.

Each time you choose recycled paper YOU ...

... HELP preserve forests by reducing the demand for wood

... HELP conserve resources and generate less pollution during the manufacturing process

... HELP reduce solid wastes by diverting usable paper form the waste stream.

5 tips to make your company photo card special!

I thoroughly enjoy receiving photo holiday cards from companies that I do business with and even companies that have serviced my home needs throughout the year. We do so much business remotely and through email, we never seem to get the chance to "put a face to the name". What better time of year to really connect on a personal level with clients, customers and business associates!

Here are 5 tips to follow when planning your company holiday photo card.

1. Seek a professional photographer ... there's nothing worse than a photo out of focus or poorly lit.

2. Pick a good location ... consider an area that may be a familiar part of your office or a unique building feature that the recipients can relate to.

3. Make it fun ... have the president or CEO wear a Santa hat for just a touch of humor.

4. Include action ... if you company has a signature production capability, show it.

5. Print & send ... choose a company that will reproduce a high quality photo card, adding personalization and a sentiment that speaks to your company image.

Here's a great example!
